Polar Opposites

“A cheerful disposition is good for your health; gloom and doom leave you bone-tired.”  Proverbs 17:22 (Message)

“A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”  (Amplified)

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”  (NLT)

In the company of someone filled with thankfulness and appreciation, my chin is up, I inhale deeply, and I see endless possibilities.  In contrast, a bitter, angry manner can make me clinch my jaw, hunch my shoulders, and stare at my shoes.  This verse is our gum for today, chew often.  Let’s spread an attitude of gratitude and stop the power of the sour.

A Special Inspiration for My Healing Foot

Sep 8th, 2009 by Mary

Cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning, for on You do I lean and in You do I trust. Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my inner self to You.”  Psalm 143:8 (Amplified)

Where is God today as you stretch your back, square your shoulders, step into your shoes?  Within the newness of the dawn, the pause between moments, the air of hope, God is here.  Invite Him into the ache, into the questions, into the dreaded places.  God brings healing oil to light your day, mend your wounds, clear your head.  Stop, look, listen.  Trust God loving you.

Independence Day, 2009

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He chose for His inheritance.”  Psalm 33:12

One nation under God; thirteen colonies, now fifty states.  As individuals we are flawed, as a group we lack perfection, and yet we have the freedom to continue working and fighting for liberty.  This has been God’s loving provision, an answer to prayer, for two hundred thirty three years.  Today as soldiers fight, pray for them, pray for our nation, our neighbors and thank God
